Service-connected hair loss requires specialized care beyond a standard salon visit. As an approved vendor, I design custom cranial prostheses, the official medical term the VA uses for covered wigs, hair systems, and toppers, crafted to match your exact style and needs.
If you already have a prescription for a prosthetic, or are learning more about hair loss, I’m here to help.
Fully funded by the VA for eligible service-connected hair loss, these medical-grade cranial prostheses are custom-designed to match your exact hair texture, style, and fit.
100% direct VA billing with zero out-of-pocket costs for approved claims
Custom full wigs and top pieces (toppers) tailored to your scalp contours
Natural human hair and synthetic options matched to your color, texture, and density
Private 1-on-1 consultation, precise fitting, and custom styling
In addition to VA-approved prosthetics, my studio offers non-surgical restoration options and standard specialized cosmetology services.
Custom hair extensions and sew-in solutions for localized thinning
Micro-point extensions tailored for fine hair
Maintenance services to preserve and refresh non-VA hair systems
Tailored hair cutting, shaping, and scalp health consultations
Your hair restoration doesn’t start or end with a prescription. It begins whenever you’re ready to explore your options.
No matter where you land on this path, I can help you navigate the next steps

Not sure where to start with the VA? Consider a 1-on-1 consultation in my studio.
Because the VA specifically covers medical hair prosthetics (wigs, hair systems, and toppers), we can discuss the best match for your hair loss.
Once we confirm a wig or topper is the right path, your next step is to book an appointment with your VA primary care doctor or dermatologist to discuss getting a cranial prosthesis for your hair loss.
To help you prepare for your VA doctor visit, here is a quick guide to what the VA usually requires for prescribing a hair system.
Please remember this guide is for informational purposes only; your VA physician makes all medical eligibility determinations.
Service-Connected or VA-Treated Condition: Documented hair loss resulting from military service, stress, scarring, alopecia, or medical treatments like chemotherapy.
Active VA Prescription/Consult: An official consult written by your VA primary care doctor, dermatologist, or specialist for a “cranial prosthesis.”
Preferred Vendor Designation: Tricia Hernandez requested by name and phone number on your VA consult form so PSAS routes the referral to my studio.
VA Direct Authorization: A formal Purchase Order issued by the local VA Prosthetic Department (PSAS) allowing $0 out-of-pocket direct billing.
As a woman veteran, you deserve specialized care tailored to your unique experience.
Participating in the veteran community through outreach efforts and events like Sisterhood of Service has given me a deep understanding of the physical and emotional impact of service-connected hair loss.
In my private studio, you will find a confidential space where your comfort and care come first.
You deserve total confidence in your provider. My VA-approved vendor status means:
I’m a Fully Vetted Specialist: My studio meets all VA requirements for privacy, sanitation, and technical hair restoration expertise.
I Will Be Billed Directly by the VA: For approved cranial prostheses, the VA pays my studio directly. That means $0 out-of-pocket costs for you.
